These financial aids in various organizations and universities are offered to give an elevation to Nigerian Students’ higher education. Every year, students of Nigeria migrate from their native place to overseas for advancement of their education. UK is one of the most favorite among prominent international destinations as USA, Canada, etc for Nigerian students. King’s Nigerian Law Scholarship in UK, 2014
King’s College London is offering Law scholarship to Nigerian students for undertaking the one year LLM Law programme at King’s, 2014 entry. For 2014-15 one scholarship of £25,000 will be available. The scholarship will cover the full cost of tuition fees for the year, as well as providing a living costs allowance. The application deadline is 18 July 2014.


Sussex Nigeria Scholarships for Master Students in UK, 2014
Applications are invited for Nigeria scholarships for all students who admitted to start an eligible master course in September 2014. The value of scholarship is £3,000. The scholarship will be awarded automatically as a tuition fee reduction to eligible students upon enrolment at the University of Sussex. Application should be submitted till 1st August 2014.


Leventis Fellowship for Nigerian Applicants
Leventis Foundation is funding fellowship for younger scholars to develop their research interests in the field of libraries and archives and to participate in the intellectual life of the Center. Nigerian academics are eligible for this research fellowship. Duration of fellowship is of three months. The scheme might be particularly appropriate for scholars working up a PhD thesis into publishable form. The deadline for applications is 31st May 2014.


Bilateral Educational Agreement (BEA) Awards for Nigerian Students
Applications are invited for Bilateral Educational Agreement (BEA) awards available for Nigerian students under the Federal Government scholarship scheme. Applications should be submitted before the interview which will be held at different venues and dates from March 24th to 28th March 2014.


Dr. Murtala Muhammed Scholarship for Nigerian Students
London Metropolitan University is offering scholarship for Nigerian students. Applicants must have a First Class Honours degree or the highest accolade for their degree. A full tuition fee scholarship will be awarded for one student from Nigeria. The application deadline is 30 April 2014 for the September 2014 intake.


Call for Applications: WASCAL GRP on Climate Change and Agriculture, 2014/15
Applications are invited for WASCAL graduate research program on Climate Change (CC) and Agriculture (CC&Agric). Female candidates are encouraged to apply. The program provides a full scholarship for a maximum period of three (3) years excluding language course. Application should be submitted till March 31, 2014.


ISH-London Met Scholarship Scheme for Master Students in UK, 2014
International Students House (ISH) and London Metropolitan University are jointly offering scholarship for master students. The scholarship programme offers a full tuition fee scholarship to study one of London Met’s Master’s programmes. The deadline is 30 April 2014 for the September 2014 intake.


Postgraduate Scholarships for Ghanaian and Nigerian Students
University of Portsmouth offers postgraduate scholarships within the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences and Department of Geography. These postgraduate scholarships are open to Ghanaian and Nigerian students for pursuing full-time taught Master’s postgraduate degrees. The application deadline is 31 July 2014.


Pegge Scholarship for Nigerian students
University of Sussex is offering MSc scholarship in Evolutionary and Adaptive Systems. This MSc scholarship for Nigerian students takes the form of a contribution towards tuition fees and also possibly maintenance at the discretion of the awarding committee. The deadline for applications is 1st July 2014.


Steve Huckvale Scholarships for African Students in UK, 2014
University of Bath is offering scholarships for African students. These scholarships are available to masters applicants who are intending to study Engineering or Management. Each Scholarship is worth £5,000. Each is awarded as a discount in tuition fees and is for one year only. The application deadline is 30th June 2014.


International Undergraduate Scholarships for Nigerian students
University of the West of Scotland offers 12 undergraduate scholarships for students from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Ghana, Nigeria and Thailand. These scholarships include 25% fee reduction upon entry into year one of an undergraduate degree programme. The application deadline is 27th June 2014.


Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarships for Nigerian students 
University of Essex is offering international scholarships for pursuing undergraduate and master degree level. These scholarships are specifically for non-EU students who have firmly accepted an offer of a place by 30 June 2014 and met the academic conditions of entry. Last date of submitting applications is 30th June 2014.


Dorothy Nicol Scholarship for Sub-Saharan Africa in UK, 2014
University of Stirling is offering scholarship for students from Sub-Saharan Africa for entry in September 2014. Applicants must hold an offer (conditional or unconditional) of a place on any of the full-time Masters programmes offered by Stirling Management School. The application deadline is 10th June 2014.


International Students House Residential Scholarships
Applications are invited for residential scholarships in London for the September 2014 intake. Students should be from a developing or emerging country and intending to return on completion of their studies. Preference will be given to postgraduate students who are studying a course that will provide skills to assist in the development of their home country. Scholarships provide free accommodation at ISH for up to a year and in exceptional circumstances up to three years. The deadline for applications is 31st May 2014.


Edinburgh Global Health Academy Masters Scholarship
University of Edinburgh is offering one full-time masters scholarship on the basis of academic merit. The scholarship will be awarded to a student who is accepted for admission onto an eligible Global Health Academy programme at the University of Edinburgh. The scholarship will cover the UK/EU “home” rate of tuition fee of up to £7,800. The application deadline is 30 May 2014.


Masters Scholarships for Low and Middle-Income Countries’ Students
Kasetsart University is offering full masters scholarships for international students from Low-income and Lower middle-income countries. Scholarships are available for new students to study in M.S. English Program in Agricultural and Resource Economics (ARE), Kasetsart University. Application deadline is April 30, 2014.


UNU-ISP PhD Scholarships in Sustainability Science, Japan
Applications are invited for full PhD scholarships in the area of sustainability science at United Nations University. A limited number of PhD scholarships (covering tuition fees and living costs) for a maximum of 36 months are available for outstanding applicants. Application deadline is April 30, 2014.


Loughborough University Graduate Scholarships
Loughborough University Graduate School Development Trust funds scholarships for Nigerian students and other African Students for pursuing postgraduate degree. Candidates must have full understanding of the costs involved in coming to study and live in the UK.  Scholarship application deadline is 30th April 2014.


Nigeria Merit Undergraduate Scholarships for Nigerian Students
University of Sheffield is pleased to offer two Nigeria Merit Undergraduate Scholarships for Nigerian students starting their undergraduate degree studies in September 2014. The scholarships are worth £6,500 of undergraduate course tuition fee per year. Application will close on 26 April 2014.


IDRC Doctoral Research Awards for Nigerian students
IDRC offers research awards for Canadians and developing countries’ students for pursuing doctoral studies at a Canadian university. These awards are intended for field research in one or more developing countries. Students must have completed coursework and passed comprehensive exams before taking up the award. Approximately 20 to 25 awards are offered per competition and will cover justifiable field research expenses up to CA$20,000 a year. The application deadline is April 2, 2014.


Development Scholarships for Nigerian Students
The Faculty of Social Sciences at Charles University through the support of the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport offers five partial scholarships for developing countries. Applications for these scholarships are open to all students from developing countries and/or countries going through a process of political and economic transition. Students who are applying for study in one of Bachelor’s studies or Master’s studies programmes at Faculty of Social Sciences from academic year 2014/15 can apply. The deadline for scholarship applications is 30th April 2014.


Intermediate Fellowships for Nigerian students
Wellcome Trust is offering research fellowships in Public Health and Tropical Medicine. Research should be aimed at understanding and improving public health and tropical medicine of local, national and global relevance. Fellows must be based primarily in a low- and middle-income country. Last date of submitting applications is 25th April 2014.


Mo Ibrahim Foundation MSc Scholarship
The International Development Department is offering MSc scholarship in the field of Governance and State-building, followed by a six-month internship at IDD and six months with the Mo Ibrahim Foundation in London. Applicants must have the equivalent of a first class UK bachelors degree and be African nationals domiciled (or permanent residents) in an African country. Application deadline is 19th May 2014.


Cultures of Resistance Scholarships for Masters at SOAS University of London in UK, 2014/15
SOAS, University of London is offering two scholarships for masters. The scholarships will benefit people from countries that have been affected by wars and extreme poverty. Each scholarship is valued at £24,000 in total. Fees will be deducted from this amount and the remainder will be used toward maintenance. The application deadline is 20 March 2014.


Eni Scholarship for Nigerian Students
St Antony’s College Oxford in partnership with the international integrated energy company Eni is offering three students from Nigeria and other African universities the opportunity of fully funded scholarships. Scholarships will be including fees and living expenses, to undertake postgraduate study at the Master’s level at the University of Oxford. Scholarship application deadline is 22nd March 2014.


Henley Ambassador Postgraduate Awards
University of Reading offers Henley ambassador postgraduate awards in the field of business. Students must be holding an offer for a full time postgraduate programme at Henley Business School for entry in 2014/15. University of Reading provides total of £180,000 and successful students will receive up to £5,000 off their degree tuition fees. The deadlines for applications are March 21st 2014 and July 4th 2014.


TechWomen Professional Mentorship and Exchange Program in USA, 2014
Applications are invited for five-week TechWomen professional mentorship program in USA. This program supports emerging women leaders in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) from Africa and the Middle East. The 2014 TechWomen program will occur over five weeks from early October through early November 2014. Applications for this program should be submitted online by February 10, 2014.


NDDC Foreign Scholarship Program for Nigerians Students
Applications are invited for NDDC Foreign Scholarship Program available for Nigerians students. Scholarships are awarded for postgraduate programme at a recognized university abroad. Applicants must have a first degree with minimum of 2nd Class Lower Division to undertake a master’s Degree programme and a good Master’s Degree for PhD programme from a recognized University. Application should be submitted till 28th February 2014.


TWAS Prizes for Developing Countries’ Scientists, 2014
The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) is awarding eight prizes of USD 15,000 each to individual scientists who have been working and living in a developing country for at least ten years. Each prize is accompanied by a medal. The application deadline is 28th February 2014.


Hungarian Ministry of Rural Development Master of Science (MSc) Fellowship Programme
The Hungarian Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), on behalf of the Government of Hungary is offering fellowship programme for the students of developing countries. The fellowships are available for pursuing master (MSc) degree in the field of Agricultural Sciences, Horticulture, Rural development and agribusiness. The application deadline is 28th February 2014.


CAS-TWAS President’s Postgraduate Fellowship Programme
Applications are invited for CAS-TWAS President’s Postgraduate Fellowship Programme from the citizens of developing countries other than China. These postgraduate fellowships are awarded up to 140 students per year for PhD study and research. The application deadline is 28th February 2014.


Netherlands Fellowship Programmes for Nigerian students 
Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the budget for development cooperation is offering Netherlands Fellowship Programmes (NFP) for developing country applicants. The fellowship is available for master’s, PhD and short courses. Students must be a national of and working and living in one of the countries in the NFP country list valid at the time of application. If for whatever reason a candidate stays in another country other than his or her home country for more than 90 days before the start of the course and/ or programme, he or she is not considered to be living and working in his or her home country. Application should be submitted till February 4, 2014.


Early Career Development Fellowship
The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) and OCLC are offering Jay Jordan IFLA/OCLC Early Career Development Fellowship for Developing Countries Applicants. This fellowship is available for early career development and continuing education for library and information science professionals. Applicants must have a qualifying degree in library or information science. Normally a PhD is not considered a qualifying degree, because the Fellowship program is targeted for early career librarians. The application deadline is February 14, 2014.


POGO-SCOR Visiting Fellowships for Nigerian students
POGO and the Scientific Committee on Oceanic Research (SCOR) are offering visiting research fellowships at centers in developing countries and countries with economies in transition. The application deadline is 10th January 2014.


The Distance Learner Online MPH Scholarship
Online MPHDegree.net is offering two online MPH scholarships for developing countries and international students in the USA. The purpose of the merit-based Distance Learner Online MPH Scholarship is to help public health students pay for the costs of their education. It may be awarded to anyone who is currently enrolled or will enroll in the next six months in a graduate level, online master of public health program. Total offer is of $1000. These are merit-based scholarships to deserving online MPH candidates for each calendar year. The deadline for applications is January 15, 2014.


Dorothy Marchus Senesh Fellowships for Women
International Peace Research Association Foundation offers graduate fellowships for women in USA. Fellowships are provided in the field of in Peace and Development Studies. The Dorothy Senesh Fellowship is available to women from developing countries those who have completed a Bachelor’s degree, who has been accepted into a graduate program and whose graduate work is to be focused on issues related to the goals of IPRA. Every other year (beginning in 1990) one woman receives school expenses in the amount of $5,000 per year for two years. The application deadline is January 15, 2014.


IDB-Oxford Clarendon Scholarships for Nigerian students
Islamic Development Bank and the University of Oxford fund the combined IDB-Oxford Clarendon Scholarships for Nigerian students in the field of MPLS, Medical Sciences and Social Sciences at University of Oxford, UK. The application deadline is 10 January 2014 for Medical Sciences, Philosophy, Politics & International Relations and Computer Science; 24 January 2014 for all other subjects.


Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies Scholarships
The Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies is a Recognized Independent Centre of the University of Oxford. It was established in 1985 to encourage the scholarly study of Islam and the Islamic world. The Centre provides a meeting point for the Western and Islamic worlds of learning. Application deadline is 10 0r 24 January 2014.


South-South PhD Sandwich Scholarships for Nigerian Students
The Food Security Center (FSC) is offering up to four visiting Sandwich scholarships for PhD students to pursue research at a partner institute, research center or development organization located in a developing country. The monthly grant is 500 Euros. In addition, FSC pays for traveling to/from the partner institute. Health insurance and other costs must be paid for from the stipend. The deadline of application is January 19, 2014.


US/Canada Grants for Students of Developing Countries
Margaret McNamara Memorial Fund is offering award for women applicants of developing countries to pursue their degree in the USA and Canada. Applicants must be enrolled (in residence) at an accredited U.S. or Canadian educational institution for the academic year 2013-14 and intends to be enrolled for the 2014-15 academic year. An MMMF grant covers only a portion of the total costs for an academic year. Application deadline is January 15, 2014.

 
Global Change Leaders Scholarship for Nigerian students
The Coady International Institute St. Francis Xavier University is offering global change leaders scholarship program in Canada. This is a seven-week education program which provides successful candidates with a full scholarship that includes tuition, travel meals and accommodations. Women applicants from developing countries are eligible for this scholarship. Application deadline is January 17, 2014.

Visiting Research Fellowships for Nigerian students
The Centre of African Studies invites applications for two visiting research fellowships from candidates in all the disciplines in the humanities and social sciences. Fellowships are open for African students. The appointments will take place from 1st October 2014 – 31st March 2015 and are non-renewable. Each award is worth up to £14,000; out of which travel, accommodation, maintenance costs and medical insurance will be paid by the centre on behalf of the fellow. Application should be submitted till 3rd January 2014.


Intermediate Fellowships in Public Health and Tropical Medicine
Welcome Trust funds Intermediate Fellowships for high-calibre, mid-career researchers from Nigeria and low- and middle-income countries in the field of Public Health and Tropical Medicine to study in UK. Preliminary application deadline is 25 April, 2014 and full application deadline is 4th July 2014.


Aga Khan International Scholarship
Aga Khan Foundation funded International Scholarships for Nigerian Students and Developing Countries to study in abroad. Scholarships are awarded on a 50% grant: 50% loan basis through a competitive application process once a year in June or July. Applications are available now in January. Scholarship application deadline is March 31 (annually).


Georg Forster Research Fellowship for Nigerian students
The Humboldt Foundation grants up to 80 Georg Forster Research Fellowships for postdoctoral researchers and experienced researchers annually and financed by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development  and Co-financed by the European Union (EU) in the 7th Framework Programme. Scientists and scholars of all disciplines from developing countries, emerging economies and transition states (excluding People’s Republic of China and India) can apply to the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation directly at any time. Applications can be submitted at any time from 01.07.2013 to mid-2015.


Georg Forster Postdoctoral Research Fellowships
Humboldt Foundation funded Postdoctoral Research fellowship for the students from Nigeria and other Developing Country in the field of Natural Sciences, Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences to study in Germany. Applications may be submitted any time from 1.7.2013 until mid-2015.


Campbell Fellowship for Nigerian students
Vera R. Campbell Foundation funds one six-month fellowship for female postdoctoral social scientist from a developing nation whose work addresses women’s economic and social empowerment in that nation. Scholarship application deadline is 1st November (annually).


INSA JRD-Tata Fellowship Programme
The Indian National Science Academy (INSA) offers fellowship programme for developing countries in India. It covers short-term, participatory research studies in all major disciplines of science and technology including engineering and medical sciences at premier research institutions in India. Applicants possessing Doctorate or Master’s Degree in Science or equivalent degree in Engineering/ Medicine and allied disciplines, candidates below 45 years of age may apply. The application deadline is 31st October every year.


ICO-Retina Research Foundation Helmerich Fellowships
The International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO) is offering two fellowships for developing countries. These one year fellowships are awarded for training in any ophthalmology subspecialty at a host training center. The fellowships worth of US$25,000 are offered to cover round trip travel, living expenses and professional expenses. The fellowship may be commencing anytime within 15 months after award notification. The deadline for applications is September 30 of each year.

TWAS-USM Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme
TWAS-USM offers postdoctoral fellowship to pursue advanced research in the natural sciences at Universiti Sains Malaysia. Fellowships are offered for a minimum period of twelve (12) months to a maximum period of three years and are awarded to young scientists from developing countries. USM will provide a standard monthly allowance which should be used to cover living costs, such as accommodation and food. Applications will close on 15 September of each year.

TWAS-icipe Fellowships for Visiting Scholars
The International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (icipe), Nairobi, Kenya and TWAS offer fellowship for visiting scholars from developing countries in Kenya. Fellowship is provided in the field of natural sciences. Fellowship is available for pursuing advanced research in natural sciences. Fellowship is offered for a minimum period of one month to a maximum period of three months. The application deadline is 15 September of each year.

UNESCO/ Poland Co-Sponsored Fellowships Programme
Research Fellowships in Ecohydrology will be available for Nigerian and other Developing Countries students. These fellowships are sponsored by United Nation Educational Scientific And Cultural Organization, Poland. Beneficiaries of these fellowships will be given the opportunity to undertake an individual research programme in the field of Science, Technology and Engineering. Scholarship application deadline is 28 June (annually).
