Broadcasting Corporation (TBC) is a Public Service
Broadcasterestablished by Government Order in 2007 and became
operational on the 1stof July 2007 replacing the then Tanzania
Broadcasting Services – TaasisiyaUtangazaji Tanzania (TUT). TUT was
established in the year 2002 pursuant to Public Corporation Act No 2 of
1992, Government Notice No 23 of 14th June 2002. Its formation was a
result of a merger of Radio Tanzania Dar es Salaam (RTD) which was
established in 1972 and TelevisheniyaTaifa (TVT) which was established
in 1999.
Tanzania Broadcasting Corporation (TBC) invite applications from suitably qualified Tanzanians to fill the following posts:
- TECHNICIAN II - 33 POSTS (for Regional Transmitters)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Holder of Secondary Education Certificate plus Trade Test II / III or its equivalent from a recognised Institution. Computer skills are an added advantage.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Carry out technical operations,
- Carry out servicing and maintenance work of technical equipment,
- Ensure proper maintenance of all equipment at his/her workplace,
- Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Within the Salary Scale of PGSS 5
- JOURNALIST II: - 2 POSTS
Holder of Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma in Journalism, Mass Communication, TV/Film Production
from a recognized Institution. Knowledge in word processing, graphics, photographing, photo-editing and video shooting is an added advantage. Computer skills are essential.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Gather and write news and stories,
- Writes scripts and continuities and prepares programmes for radio and television products,
- Collects, reports and comments on news and current affairs for broadcasting by radio or television,
- Interviews politicians and other public figures at press conferences and on occasions, including individual interviews recorded for radio or television,
- Writes editorials and selects, revises, arranges and edits submitted articles and other materials for broadcasting on radio or television,
- Writes advertising copy promoting particular products or services,
- Selects, assembles and prepares publicity materials about business or other organizations for being broadcast through radio, television or other media,
- Provides professional and technical support to other junior reporters/journalists,
- Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by Supervisor.
Within the Salary Scale of PGSS 10
QUALIFICATIONS:
Holder of Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education (ACSE) or Certificate of Secondary Education (CSE) with pass in Kiswahili and English language and certificate in Records Management or its equivalent from a recognized Institution. Computer skills are essential.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receives files, deliver to the appropriate officer and collects and returns them to registry,
- Opens relevant files according to record keeping regulations,
- Keeps record of movement of files according to laid down procedures,
- Traces, locates and retrieves files when needed by officers,
- Receiving and register all official documents brought in the registry.
- Arranging documents and files in ranking or cabinets in the registry.
- Filing documents in the appropriate files.
- Record and arrange efficient and timely dispatch of all correspondences
- Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor. Salary:

- Procurement Management Officer II - 2POSTS
Holder of Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma in Materials Management or its equivalent from a recognised Institution and registered with Procurement and Supplies Professionals and Technicians Board (PSPTB). Computer skills essential are essential. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides support in placing orders for goods requested by user departments,
- Inspects goods supplied to ascertain conformity to approved standards specifications and quality,
- Follows up overdue orders,
- Prepares monthly, quarterly, mid-year and annual stock report,
- Clears goods imported by the Corporation,
- Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

- ICT Officer II - 1 POST
Holder of Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics or its equivalent from a recognised Institution.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Initiates development of information systems,
- Assists in setting up and maintains servers, workstations and peripherals
- Carries out system back-up and periodically tests recovery procedures.
- Appraises the supervisor on release of updates and software,
- Assists in providing IT support services to users,
- Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor. Salary:

- Human Resource and Administrative Officer II - 1 POST
Holder of Bachelor Degree in Human Resources Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, Sociology or its equivalent from a recognized Institution. Computer Skills are essential. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in salary administration, remuneration scheme and management of Pension and terminal benefits,
- Assist in the preparation of staff records regarding, staff leave and staff welfare,
- Keep an update registers for staff position, disposition, engagements, confirmations and promotions,
- Promote good industrial relations in the workplace,
- Assist in management of the Pension scheme,
- Participate on assessing training needs of personnel,
- Collecting, keeping and updating personnel data and information.
- Interpreting and implementing Scheme of Service.
- Collecting, analysing and planning proper statistics records for human resources plans.
- Preparing and handling seniority list.
- Drafting internal circulars, letters and internal memorandum for official use.
- Perform any otherrelated duties as may be assigned by the supervisor. Salary:

- Estate Management Officer II - 1POST
Holder of Bachelor Degree or an Advanced Diploma in Estate/Land Management and Valuation, Architecture, Building Economics or its equivalent from a recognized Institution. Computer Skills are essential. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Carries out periodic inspection of the Corporation’s buildings and assesses maintenance requirements,
- Maintains an up to date record of real estates and assets register,
- Provide support on following up procurement of Title Deeds for TBC properties,
- Produces periodic reports on the status of TBC properties,
- Prepares sketches and plans needed for making minor alterations to buildings and equipment.
- Assists in innovative approaches to conditioning, maintaining and upgrading of the surroundings of the Corporation’s buildings.
- Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor. Salary:

- Soundman II - 1POST
Holder of Diploma in Sound Recording or its equivalent from a recognised Institution with good command of Swahili and English language. Computer skills are essential. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Recording sound and music on location and in the studio with optimum sound quality and effects,
- Deal with all sound transfers as may be requested by the producer,
- Perform integration of music into the broadcast,
- Ensure proper maintenance and operation of all sound recording devices,
- Ensure optimum quality of sound at recording/dubbing sessions and proper blending of sound effects with music tracks into single cohesive unit,
- Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor. Salary:

- DRIVER II - 2 POSTS
Holder of Certificate of Secondary Education with passes in Kiswahili and English. Must have a valid class C driving license and Trade Test Grade III from a recognized Institution with driving experience of 2 years with accident free record. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive the Corporation’s vehicles towards approved destinations and in accordance with traffic regulations,
- Undertake minor mechanical repairs,
- Take vehicles due for routine maintenance/repair to the appointed service agents,
- Maintain motor vehicle log books,
- Make pre-inspection to the assigned vehicle at all times,
- Ensure that valid documents and permits are acquired prior commencement of any journey
- Report promptly accidents or incidents involving the vehicles to the relevant authority,
- Ensure that the vehicle assigned to him/her is maintained, serviced regularly and kept clean,
- Maintain a logbook and record all vehicle movements as instructed,
- Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Within the Salary Scale of POSS 5
